Introduction

Cali is located in the geographic valley of the Cauca River and is the capital city of the department of Valle del Cauca. Being the third city of Colombia in importance and having a population of 2,075,380 inhabitants, distant 480 kilometers to the southwest of Bogota. Cali is the main urban development in the Colombian Pacific basin. As the administrative and service center in the heart of the south-western region of the country, it has an action radius covering the departments of Valle, Southern Chocó, Cauca and also Nariño.
