SWITCH: Managing Water for the City of the Future

Managing Water for the City of the Future

Zaragoza – Spain

Introduction

Zaragoza is at the confluence of two tributaries, the Rio Gallego from the north and the Rio Jalon from the south. The valleys are green from irrigation and the surrounding hills are barren. Water supply is currently abstracted from the Rio Ebro via the Imperial Canal on the south bank of the river.
