Accra – Ghana
Introduction
Accra, like many parts of the world, faces challenges in accessing clean and safe water. The water distribution network exists but is limited. More than 50% of the population do not have household or yard connections. They get their water supply from secondary sources such as water tank operators at exorbitant prices. This means the urban poor who are not connected to the Ghana Water Company network pay more for the same quantity of water supplied.
